Resources

Below I’ve put together a list of links for great resources that will be exceedingly helpful to you.

How to Write a Research Paper, Proposal, or Thesis – Manual and guide that walks through how to effectively write a research paper, proposal, or thesis. Covers all major areas of a research project including how to write good research questions, how to select a topic, and how write and think about your conclusions. Also covers: proper citation, writing an intro, abstract, analysis, and conclusion. From the creator of MassCommTheory.com (That’s me!). A great quick reference guide for researchers, undergrad, and graduate students alike.

A Primer in Theory Construction – A foundation books for any theorist or reference for any student of almost any social science. Great reference, a few of my posts are based on the info from this book (a steal at ~$5 too)

Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Sixth Edition – Must, must have the latest version of the APA style manual, a little pricey so if you’re looking to save $$ grab the handbook below instead of the full manual.

The APA Pocket Handbook: Rules for Format & Documentation – The easy alternative to the full APA publication manual, I kept this one in my bag the entirety of grad school. Highly recommended!
